Changing out the two-piece oil seals on the rear brake drums to unitized seals. After removing the old oil retainer and wear sleeve off the spindle. I started on removing the oil seal in the drum. I manage to pop out the inner rubber part of the seal leaving the outer shell in the drum. How do remove this part? There is no way to get any kind of tool on it to pull it. Maybe I need cut it out?
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Thanks Ray, The outside part of the seal had no shoulder to work against. It was flush with bore of the hub.
I took it to a Ford shop and they said they never seen anything like it. Somebody went through a lot of work modifying it to take a somewhat larger seal. I gutted the seal leaving the out side rim and install the right size seal in it. The other hub had the right seal. I'm thinking that some one might mess something in the hub and had the hub turned to go to the bigger seal.
Don't know.
thanks for your response
