ok i have a 1979 f350 that has been sitting since 1999 with a 1967 289 out of a mustang with a granny 4 speed and a brining light, aka gear grinder aka gear switcher so i have 12 forward gears and 3 reverse gears. It has a stock 2bbl carb, i had the motor running off of a gas can but the carb was leaking fuel bad so i know i need to rebuild it and turn it up what else do i need to do, also it has a bad rear end but i have one out of a 1992 f350 diesel, can i swap the front suspension off of the 1992 onto my 79? if so what will i have to do to make it work.
Things I have done
Spark Plugs
Drianed Fuel Tank
New Fuel Pump
New Fuel Filter
Brakes
What else do i need besides the carb to make it dependable the motor has less than 20,000 miles since complete rebuild

Personally, I'd check all the rubber and steel brake lines also, any signs of cracking, or severe rusting and I'd change em without thinkin about it.
Might be a pain in the rear, but unless you know the guy that rebuilt the engine, I'd pull the oil pan and check it for shavings just to be on the safe side. A coolant flush is in order, along with all other fluids considering the amount of time it's sat. And a good oiling of all other moving parts, Door hinges, seat adjuster, hood hinges, tailgate latch, etc.
yeah i know the man quite well my grandpa and my dad rebuilt that motor
Nice. As long as you trust them, it's all good. Personally, I'd probably check my Dad's work within the first oil change. Not that I don't trust him, but I know he likes to cut corners, like tossing AJAX in wheel seals instead of replacing them... He cracked me up with his rig-ability.
wow thats funny lol when it comes to rebuilding a motor my dad doesnt cut corners and my my grandpa damn sure didnt, he used to race dirt cars back in the 50's so did my grandma.
im 19 and have already rebuilt 4 engines from the block up by myself not counting the motors ive rebuilt with my dad helping. yeah the right parts help, you can do a mild rebuild, pretty much everything except a new cam, rods, push rods, rockers, and crank for about 300 bucks from summit racing
