PARTS REQUEST AND A RARE FINDING.

HI THERE TO ALL FORD TRUCK ENTHUSIASTS.

WELL I WANT TO POST ABOUT A RARE FINDING THAT I HAVE FOUND NEAR MY HOME. MY UNCLE IN LAW'S BROTHER BOUGHT WHAT SEEMS TO BE A FORD F600, F700 OR IT MIGHT BE A F7000 FROM THE 1967-1973 MODEL YEAR. THE RARE PART IS THAT THE TRUCK IS A BARE CHASSIS (NO FLAT BED OR DUMP BODY OVER IT) WITH TANDEM AXLES (DUAL AXLES)

I HAVE SEEN 2 FORD F700 (1974-1979 MODEL YEAR. MAYBE THEY ARE F7000) WITH TANDEM AXLES HERE, BOTH WERE FLAT BED TRUCKS POWERED BY CATERPILLAR 3208 DIESEL ENGINES.

THE ONE I FOUND IS POWERED BY A GASOLINE ENGINE. (391 V8 I GUESS)

I WILL TRY TO TAKE SOME PICTURES OF IT AND ALL THE VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS.

IS THERE ANY WAY OF KNOWING IF THIS TRUCK CAME WITH THE TANDEM AXLES (DUAL AXLES) FROM FACTORY???? A V8 GAS TRUCK WITH TANDEM AXLES DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT TO ME....

OTHER THING IS TO REQUEST IF THERE IS ANY PARTS CATALOG (I KNOW I CAN USE SOME OF THE F-SERIES (F-150 /F250 / F350 PARTS ON F600 / F700 / F7000 TRUCKS) BUT WE ARE LOOKING TO GET A CHROME GRILL AND THE BLACK DASH PIECE (IS IT MADE FROM FOAM, PLASTIC OR VINYL??) SO IT WILL BE NICE TO FIND PARTS FOR THE HEAVY F-SERIES TRUCKS (1967-1979)

THAKS GUYS...

Way back when, 600, 700, 800 was gassers and 7000, 8000 was diesel. Later that must have changed, I've seen 800 diesels.
Post your serial number & plate info, if I can't look it up, somebody can.
I guess what you have would be a FT600 or FT700 if it's a factory tandem.

Available from hipoparts.com on CD's.

1948/56 Ford Truck Parts Catalog.

1957/63 Ford Truck Parts Catalog.

1964/72 Ford Truck Parts Catalog.

1973/79 Ford LIGHT Truck Parts Catalog (F100/500, P Series Parcel Delivery, Econoline & M Series Motor Home).

1973/79 Ford HEAVY Truck Parts Catalog (all trucks except as noted above).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1980/89 Ford LIGHT Truck Parts Catalog (F100/350, Bronco, Econoline, Ranger, Bronco II).

1980/89 Ford HEAVY Truck Parts Catalog (all trucks except as noted above).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1966/72 & 1973/79 Bronco parts are listed in the: 1965/72 & 1973/79 Ford Passenger Car Parts Catalogs, also available from hipoparts.com

NOS chrome grilles for 1973/89 F500 and larger trucks are obsolete. The last time I searched for some, no one had any.

There is nothing rare about any 500 or larger truck with bare frame rails behind the cab, because...

Most 500 and larger trucks were only sold as a Cab & Chassis, or (F Series) as one of two models of Open Drive-Away's: Chassis & Cowl or Chassis & Windshield.

Ford at one time did offer Platform's (Flat Bed's) and Platform & Rack's (Stake Beds) for F Series trucks, but these factory installed beds were rarely installed.

If these beds are genuine Ford, they will be marked as such. Most 'back of cab' equipment is/was installed by aftermarket body makers.

Thaks for the information on how I can get a PARTS CATALOG (hipoparts.com)

A dump body like the one on this picture will be a nice fit on that "RARE" FORD F700 tandem axle truck

In the 80's, the 700 and 800 series trucks could be ordered with the 8.2 detroit diesel. If it was ordered with the Cat 3208, it was designated as a 7000 or 8000.
