330 head & intake manifold

Not sure if I should post this in the FT/FE forum or this forum?

I have checked out the exhaust leaks on my C600 and have found a rusted thru intake in the exhaust cross over and one head on the exhaust crossover area. Bummer

In any case, what to do - ? Does anyone have a source for these hard parts? Or take the heads/manifolds off another more available FE style engine? It is backed up by a Allison MT 30 so the 391 option is out, but 361?

I am kinda at a loss here as what to do as I have zero experience on these engines.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

David

There should be plenty of 330's in the wrecking yards. I know of 1 here in Central Texas that has 3 or 4 330's and one of those has a rod sticking out of the block so I know he'd sell the heads and manifold.

C4TZ9424H .. Intake Manifold

Fits: 1964/72 FT 330 2V M/D; 330 2V HD; 361 2V.
-------------------------------------------------
Which 330 engine is this? There are two different types.

The 330 M/D uses a different cylinder head than the 330 H/D.

Some 330 H/D heads are the same as 361 heads, some are not.

Junkyards: Some 1971 and later 330 M/D & 330 H/D cylinder heads are drilled for Thermactor Emission (smog pump) manifolds.

FT heads are not the same as FE heads, ditto for the intake (and exhaust) manifolds.

Finding these parts used is not that difficult. Here in LA LA Land, the parts are plentiful, they may be plentiful where you are, so I suggest...

Contact FTE Ford Dealer Parts Dept sponsor PARTSGUYED.COM = Ed Olson, parts manager of Horizon Ford Truck Center in Tukwila.

Ed will prolly know of some sources in the Sea-Tac area.

This is the medium duty -

I went ahead and pulled the heads, not too bad of a job, thanks goodness it is a C series, otherwise my back would be killing me from being bent over the fenders!

I had no idea that Horizon Ford was a source - they do a lot of our major fleet maint. All of my sources are gone - out of business - I used to run medium duty Mopars, and none of the local wrecking yards had anything / blank looks!

Thanks again - Davd
