HI I have an unusual question here. I am not a vintage truck owner (YET) but I do love old things and should ultimately like to replace my modern truck with an old one to pull my travel trailer .
So the other day I an old truck horn, black tin, about 24 inches long with a heavy bulbous end to it. It has two electric connectors across the front and one at the top. I would like to hook this up and use it on my vintage style bike for a festival coming up. Does any knowledge on how to wire it up and get it working? My old mechanic said it was probably 6 volt. There are no stampings anywhere. It looks to me to be from around the 1930's-1940s. Again I will be wiring it to a bike (assuming it still works) So I will ned to mount a power source for it to...suggestion on that too please. I do have an old small crate on the back of the bike where this set up would be mounted to in all likelihood.
there are two photos in my album
may thanks for any help
Jeremy (liker of old things)
If you go to "Albums" and then down to Horn, you will find the pictures that were posted.
Wiring should be simple, one wire to ground, the other wire to one side of a horn (starter push-button) button and then the other side to ground. When button is pressed, a circuit is made and the horn will blow.
