A "Lincoln" Mid-20s/Early 30s Truck??

A "Lincoln" Mid-20s/Early 30s Truck??

A reportedly heavy duty frame/differential has shown up near the Canadian border with four wood-spoke wheels ( I assume not rear duals, but two front and two rear) with chrome threaded-on "hubcaps" on each wheel and 8.25x20 tires.
No Lincoln trucks of this period appear in Mroz, or my own notes (Patriot did build a "Lincoln" 11/2T possibly this late); A quick Googling failed to find when 8.25x20's were introduced.
The questions is: was the name "Lincoln" used for any Canadian or export Ford trucks of the period??

Many times old sedans were cut to turn into trucks, especially the bigger cars, Lincolns, Packards, etc. Could be that a Lincoln body was dropped onto a truck chassis. People did a lot of mix and matching back then in the interest of saving money and keep a vehicle running. Would help if there were some pictures to see of this truck.

Gary: All the original poster mentioned was frame and differential, altho for the four wheels to be there the front axle is probably there too, but from his wording I assume there's no bodywork, eng or trans...I forgot to say "Lincoln" is on all the chrome "hubcaps", which I assume are the little caps on the outer axle ends of that period cars and trucks.
He did mention he's near the Canadian border, hence my question...
Mroz says Lincoln did produce an extended frame for ambulances and hearses, but it's doubtful they'd have 8.25x20's.
If you're interested in following developments, his original post is on the Classic Trucks forum of ytmag (which may be the same forum under yesterdayspickups.com).
His last post said he was going to take another look to see if he could find anything that might help ID. I didn't think to suggest he get pix, but if he has a dig camera he probably will.

When I was a kid in Chicago there were several trucks still around that were originally big sedans or limos that were cut down into tow trucks or for delivery use. One garage I used to hang out at had a small collection of them including a V12 Lincoln, a Rolls and also a Caddy V16 tow truck. The guy that owned the garage kept telling me that they would be valuable again, one day.
Anyway it was a fairly common practice to do this as the cars were cheap and nobody wanted to look like they had monrey when so few did.

Mel: Many thxx for comments. More than likely this'll turn out to be a car frame, or possibly one of the ambulance/hearse frames, if they were built in this period.
When I read the 8.25x20 I assumed truck tires (and they may well be), but Std Cat US Cars says Lincoln cars had 20" wheels, coming with 7:00x20's in late 20's etc; that'd be an odd size to find in used tires in later years, but there'd be lots of 8.25x20 truck tires around, which could probably be gotten onto the 7:00x20 wheels. Will post if ever ID'd. Bud
