Poor Factory Glue Job on Windshield
I bought my 00 Harley Davidson F150 from a guy who was collecting it in 2003 with 1,100 miles on it. I later found that the front windshield was not glued in very good. I seldom drove the vehicle so it took a while to find, noticed it on a really windy day while driving down the road. I could push the top portion of the windshield out and you hear the wind whistling in. Took it to a glass shop and the advised that they could attempt to re-glue it but 99% of the time the windshield cracks when they attempt to remove them. The shop owner charged me 20$ and said that the windshield removed really easily because it was barely held in by the glue. I was just wondering if my truck was built on a Friday and the boys at the plant forgot to finish the glue job before the 5 o'clock whistle blew or this is common and others have experienced the same?

well dad bought his 02 new and it did the same thing after about 2 years. what happened was the seals were so tight in combination with a bad windshield seal, that when you shut the door, the top of the windshield would pop out. took it to the local glass shop and its been fine ever since.

sounds exactly like my issue. One trip to the local glass shop fixed it for a life time but still. I have heard of some windshields not even being glued in and they just fall out. I hope GM products have the same issues. All in all that is the only complaint I have about any of the Fords I have ever driven. Well,,,,,almost the only complaint. Would like the oil filter to be located in an easy to reach and mess free area.
