idle - auto trans relationship

is there some relationship between the automatic tranny and the trucks idle ??

If so could someone please explain this in english

Umm yes, The idle speed will be higher in Park/neutral than in any gear being Reverse, Drive, 2, 1, because the motor has a load being put on it. Was this what you were looking for?

kinda, more like the vacum line from the tranny to the intake ? can the tranny introduce speratic idle ?

Vac line goes to modulator valve on transmission. Tells it how to shift.

Ive seen idle problems from the diaphram in the modulator being ruptured and causing the engine to suck up transmision fluid.
