How do I remove the keyed lock barrel on the passenger door? I've removed the grub screw (allen wrench centre) through hole on the door edge but nothing has come free. I'm nervous about forcing anything like slipping a screw driver under the lock on the outside of the door.
I did it! A gentle twist in either direction with a small screwdriver in the key slot and the barrel came loose. It pulled straight out. Well, its been there untouched for over 60 years!
I wish my shop manual was more useful.

I'm glad you posted this much. I need to disassemble the doors on my truck one of these days and would've been scratching my head. Maybe I should get a manual, but when I'm done, well, actually, even now, there isn't much Ford left on it.
I've just removed the windows on my doors. Lower the window about half way. Remove inside winder handle. Undo all the bolts holding the winding mechanism. Window should be positioned so handle shaft can be pushed inside door under the glass. Slide mechanism forward to disengage from window frame and remove it from the door.
Push window all the way to the door bottom to disengage from runners and turn thru 90 degrees. Best done when door vertical.
With door horizontal, slide window out (towards inside of door to clear frame). Use a long flat metal strip like a rule under the window to serve as a guide.
Hope you understand this. Save it for when you're ready.
