'' 79 chassis/running gear with 96 ranger speedo help
Well first off I'm against the body but its my brother's build so.. why mess with perfection right haha. But
He's needs to figure out how to mesh the 79 speedo gear/wire with the 96 ranger speedo gauge. the 79 gauge cluster is too big to fit in the 96 dash.. and of course the 79 dash is too big to fit in the ranger cab.
Any Ideas and or suggestions would be very helpful.

Its not going to happen. the ranger uses a VSS(eletrical input from a sensor on the rear axle.)
F-series from begining of time up untill and including 91 used a cable driven off the trans or t-case.
So unless he used a complete harness from a 92 and newer f-series and a VSS equiped axle or a harness from a VSS ranger w a VSS axle he is screwed
Guess he is going to have to make a cable driven spedo work in the ranger
Hey thanks you guys much appreciated ! I KNOW I KNOW haha we both have had.. and own still multiple dents - some with dents lol and he just likes the idea. Another friend of mine has went as far as using full drive from a 79 F150 4x4. 400m milled heads,pistons,cam,650jetted,alum.intake,456's,lock ed f/r,Np205/435,9''/hp44 but all up under his 95 undercarrige..39.5 boogers works insanely well but not for me in the looks department.
lol. usin the drivetrain is one thing. i dont blame him one bit for usin somethin that bulletproof! lol. but the body on the chassis... its bogglin my mind...
