nubee needs info

Hi guys I own a 1947 Ford pu and I am getting ready to restore it. I would like to put a v8 engine and a modern trans and rear end in this vehicle so I can use this vehicle as a daily driver and go on long trips with it. I would like to know if any of you out there have done this and have any advice on what eng and tranny and rear end would fit into this vehicle. Also any place where I can buy a new bed for this vehicle.
Thank you.
John

ive got a 302 and 4 speed manual out of a fox body mustang, i made all my own mounts for both and as far as a rear axle a 9 inch from a 59 ford truck will work, or im usin a dana 44 out of a scout II. the rear axle needs to be roughly 60 inches outside of drum to outside of drum, but if u want the small bolt pattern an explorer axle will work and u would have disc brakes in the back then. a new bed can be bought thru obselete and classic auto parts, Serving the community since 1974 Specializing in Antique.
