Just ordered my first parts for my '77 460!

I just placed an order for an Edelbrock Performer 3766 Intake Manifold and Holley 4150 650cfm 4-barrel carb! I'm pretty pumped! Next will be Hedman Hedders and a Crane 262/270 cam along with a true roller timing gear set.

Washington. I'll be out there in the morning. I'll get the phone number. Easy folks to work with and negotiate. I'm sure they would direct ship too. What exactly do you need?

The wire "harness" for the ignition and stuff would be nice. All the wires (to alternator, coil, etc) that come off the engine were cut when they pulled it. I can piece it together myself but it will be a pain.

It's raining turds today but I am still going out there to secure some parts I was quoted. I poke around at the harness to see what it has. I assume there is a connector and removable engine bay harness. Let you know.

How about the power steering brackets? Are they still on those trucks?

Update. I went back today and what I thought was 460 scribbled on the hoods was actually 400. Figured it out when I looked them over. There are no 460's at that yard.

Sorry guys.

These wires you're missing on yours had serious issues on mine also.
There are aftermarket GM type HEI distributors available for 460's. I put one in my engine. All you need is 1 12 volt hot wire going to the distributor. You dont need any other wires. I ran a wire from the solenoid on the fender well over to my distributor and it works very well.
I also used a GM type alternator. It was a direct bolt on except for drilling one hole bigger. All you need is one wire from the + side of your battery down to the alternator and you're in business.
Please let us know how your timing chain, cam, and intake swap go on your truck. I'd like to do the same thing to mine.
Doc.
