Scenario: Lastnight decided to go on a 200 mile drive to pick up a 1995 toyota 4runner on a trailer for someone.
On the trip back home, the fuel light comes on and that is when the lesson began..
1- While driving in the moutains once the fuel light comes on immediately find a station..lol Yes ran out once the remaining fuel was at the back of the tank..
2- It takes 5 gallons of diesel to even start a damn near dry tank
3- A toyota 4runner can not pull an Ex with trailer up a hill by far the funniest thing I have attempted thus far in 2010.
4- for an F250 dually owner to say "I am not comfortable pulling your Excursion 1/4 of a mile because I do not want damage my truck" was purely pitiful..
After it was all said and done the remaining drive home was full of laughs!!

I found out the same thing about 2 hrs ago. When fuel light comes on, stop NOW for fuel. Will not do that again.
Changing fuel pumps out is such a PITA that I never let the low fuel light come on. Running out of fuel with an electric pump is not a good thing.
You are so correct, I never even considered this with the Ex. It is an everyday thought for my project car and getting to that F/P is quick and painless..
Sidenote: I wish titantanks made a 2nd dary fuel cell for the Ex

I never let mine get that far down. I feel like I need to take out a second mortgage to fill it back up. Here where I get gas in NC, the pump stops at $75. It pisses me off to have to cycle my card again to finish fillin her up!! Lol
