1943 1 1/2 Brake Work.

I have started working on the brakes for my 1943 Ford G8T, 1 1/2 ton. The I ordered wheel cylinder rebuild kits for the front, and I need 1 new wheel cylidner for the back because it is cracked. Its got the 1 3/8 on front and the 1 1/2 on back. But now what I need is new pads.

I looked at Job Lot Auto and they have some N.O.S. ones for the back that you have to rivet on. I wondered if there was a place that I could order some for the front and the rear.

So I could get them done like at Napa, autozone. etc.. or do I need a brake shop or something of the like?

Probably a brake shop. Here locally we have a place called the Brake Exchange. I'd think the Napa could direct you to such a place. Stu

I took them to Napa and they said that as long as the shoes were in good shape they could send them off to get relined. They were okay and they sent them off. It has taken about 2 weeks so far and not gotten them back yet though.
