expedetion seats, no go.

expedetion seats, no go.
I found a cheap pair of tan leather eddie bauer heated full power seats from a 99 expedetion for 350 bucks. Took the chance because my seats are worn and my armrest broke. Plus I wanted leather. Well after removing the passenger seat to mock it up, the expys tracks are 3" longer and about 2" wider. I didn't want to drill random holes in my floor. The tracks would require extensive modification to work. I even tried to see if the expy seat would mount to the bronco tracks and still way too big. Even if you mounted the expy seats in if your over 6'1" your head will be touching the headliner. I'm 6'2". there I tried it I really wanted them in but didn't want to ghetto install them. I'm now in the market for explorer seats. Live n learn. Good news was I sold them for same price on craigslist 2 days later

I had a similar experience with exploder seats, I ended up using the bronco bases and unbolting the power bases from the explorer seats. I have power nothing on my seats as a result. However, I still retained the passenger seat flip up. On a side note, if you find a way to make the exploder seats work, and if they are a high back seat, watch out when you flip up the passenger seat, it can break your windshield. My friend has the same body style bronc you do, his windhield got broke on the first day. My headrests will easily touch the windshield, but my windshield ain't broke.

I'm using '93 Aerostar high backs on the factory '78 Bronco tracks. It was a direct bolt in, and boy are they comfortable! I also fear the broken windshield when flipping the passenger seat, as the spring is very strong. I bet when it's cold out that glass breaks a lot easier, too. I'm going to make a restraint cable for it that stops the seat about 1/2" from the windshield, just in case. Better safe than sorry.
