Quiet noise? LOL, ok, I'll explain.
My rig dropped a rear pad the last couple days of January. I ordered the replacement rotors and pads for it a few days later, and they shipped out from Jersey, so it took awhile to receive them. In the mean time, Pete came over and we pulled my HPOP and I sent it off to Joey at Terminator Engineering to be modded.
I've been driving my wife's Excursion (she had knee surgery and is laid up) while my truck was down, but on Monday I had to drop the Ex off at the body shop to be repaired from when it got hit by a Honda awhile back.
AAA is providing a rental for me and they tried to give me a Nissan truck, which I declined. My local Hertz has really good customer service though and they were able to get me a 2010 F150 to drive while the Ex is in the shop.
That truck is QUIET!
I mean, the silence is freaking deafening!
I hated it.
Yesterday I actually had some time and wasn't slammed with work so after I replaced the alternator in my '03 F150 (son's truck), I slapped the rear brakes and rotors on my truck, replaced the passenger side caliper, bled the line, and took off for a PSD fix!
Oh man I missed the sound of my 38R spooling...my single shots injecting...my engine dieseling...well, you get the idea!
I still have to deadline my truck again because the axle seal is leaking on the drivers side and needs to be replaced, but I'll do that next week.
Oh yeah, the modded 17* HPOP feels great. Absent any data logs (Pete has my AE), the power feels like it comes on smoother, it seems to pull better through the RPM's, and it definitely comes off the line quicker.
