Vibration from 45 to 55 MPH

I just purchased a 2009 E250 cargo van the other day.

I seem to have a vibration from 45 to 55 MPH.

The dealer has no clue.

Does anyone have this problem with their new van, or any suggestions?

Thanks,

The line of cars I work on had a similar problem back in 2007. There was a suspect problem with certain steel wheels from a certain supplier. Technical Assistance had us take a roadforce measurement and if it was over a certain amount we were to replace that wheel. It seems some where out of round.

I went to the dealer today and the Ford rep took the van for a ride.
He did not want to say much. After the ride he asked me to get out of the van and he brought it into the shop. The next thing I noticed was a mechanic and the rep took the van for a long ride. When they came back the van had some analyzers hooked up to the van.

They had told me that they were getting a frequency of 16HZ and the suspect was the tires or the ring and pinion.

They told me that the were going to send the tires out to have them forced balanced.

I passed by the dealer today when they were closed and took a peek into the window to notice that the rear end cover was off. So we see what happens.

The mechanic told me that the transmission was giving a frequency of 35 HZ. So we will see what happens in the next few days.

It is nice to see that the Ford rep is doing his job. <!-- / message -->

Gotta be what?
Wheels
Tires
Axles

Something that is out of round.
I suppose an axle shaft that was improperly made could do that - off center or some such. Tires that are out of balance or that are missing one of the tire weights from balancing will do that.
