on a 99 navi, is it normal for the air compressor for the susp to be kinda loud and noticeable from inside the drivers seat? i dont hear it while driving but when i first start it up and am sitting idling its pretty loud, is that normal? and if your just sitting idling on flat ground how often should the compressor be kicking on and off?
ok so just replace them with new stock ones or are there better ones to use? the compressor is right up under the hood on the pass side near the firewall right?
I would get the new ones from the dealer, after you confirm that they need replacing. Some signs to look for are cracking, brittleness, hardness, looseness, and inflexibility.

I got my replacement 'isolators' from some outfit in Florida (can't recall the name). Ford also has a redisigned mount for the pump. IIRC, my Lincoln Dealer said the new mount would run about $100.

Well, on my 2002 Navi it's on the right (passenger) side behind the headlight and under the windshield washer tank. I found it easier to take the battery and battery box out so I had more room to get the windshield washer tank out, so I would have more room to get the compressor lines disconnected so I could remove the compressor. YMMV!
ok, yeah im gonna check out the compressor bushings and see if thats making the noise. i mean i dont know what they are suppose to sound like just seems a lil loud, ive had a few towncars with the air suspensions and i cant recall ever hearing the compressor in those so... also while were talking air susp's, what is in the far back drivers side of these trucks? in the compartment with the door? looks like a air compressor of some sort itself back there??

American air suspension in Jacksonville/Green Cove springs area, if I remember right. I dealt with him 8 or 9 years ago, I don't recall his name but he would really work to make sure you were satisfied with his
product(s).
