We have a 2003 F150 4.6L that has codes for cyl 1 & 2 misfire. We have changed the plugs, and one of the coils. All of the plugs in bank 1 looked VERY rich, and the plugs in bank 2 looked ok (except that half of the plugs were the wrong ones). We smoked the intake and found some leakage through the EGR, and replaced it. We have checked the injectors with a bench flow tester, they had a good flow/spray pattern. The bank 1 ST fuel trip is -30%, and the O2 sensors are reading -30.0v. The truck is dumping fuel, as evidenced by the burning of our eyes. Anybody come across this kind of problem? Any idea's where to look next?
look for a chaffed wire for the o2 circuit.also try swapping the o2 to the other side.something is screwy.the o2 operates from.00 to 1.0 volts.could have a pcm problem.
We sent out the PCM to have it checked. I'll keep you informed. If it comes back OK, we'll try scoping the two o2s and see what we find.
Thanks for your help.
Left bank cats were done, front one completely gone and rear one completely plugged.
Turns out that the o2 sensor readings where false readings. I've noticed that the NGS sometimes gives you too many PIDS, and that's what the -30v reading was.
We changed the right bank cats, and the truck runs mint.
