<O</O As soon as the weather gets a bit warmer, I need to fix my headliner which is sagging very badly. While I have this off, I was thinking about replacing the low-end dome lite I currently have with the upgraded model that has the two addition reading lamps in it. I assume this was standard on some upscale models and was wondering if all the additional wiring/power and mounting holes would already be present (i.e., simple bolt-on) on my model. </O Are these lite units pretty easy to find and what should I expect to pay for a decent used one? </O Thanks!
lol k the light in pic 1 can be found in xlt lariats.... the reading lights are bright but the domelight *the center cover* sux its not all that bright with the OE bulbs and i dont know if they make different covers... i thaught about getting an led one and putting behind it to c how much brighter it makes it
i am going to put the taurus one in my truck to replace the crappy chrome one that is pictured i cant stand not being able to see crap at night inside my truck
I hate the chrome one with the yellow lense. The map lights are almost useless and the dome light itself sucks.
I got this one out of a newer 99+ Super Duty rear seat. It has a different lense for the map lights that works better in a regular cab truck since it helps angle the light down. If your truck is an extended cab then the other similar lense is ok.
The old style map reader light has been in ford cars from the 70's onward. So, just because it is from a Tauras doesnt mean anything the other one started out in LTDs... I would rather have one that I can see the darn floor boards with rather than getting out the flashlight to see something while cursing that yellow bug light that doesnt have a clear replacement lense for...
