I asked about trading my 33x12.5x15 All terrian Pro comp tires.Would the stock tires and wheels handle better in the snow?First Bronco and these wonder on the road and seem to slide easy. They look good but I am 59 and are into comfort and handling.
The hight of the tires doesnt make any differnce in snow (unless your going through deep snow). The width of the tires is a trade off on snow. When going slow (or trying to go) wide tires give you more traction. But when going fast, they can hydroplane on the snow. One thing I must mention, if you dont have a L/S or locker in your diffs, the tires that are not turning are plowing. In this case, wide tires plow more. (hold you back)Agressive tred will help in all cases on snow.
You can get some wonder with any tires on a uneven/crowned roads. Wide tires exagerate this wonder. But I would be looking at your steering components.
Get those tires siped, this will help out 10 fold when driving in snow/ice conditions. I agree that you should look into your tierods, ball joints and perhaps bearings as causing the wander issue. also remember this bronco will not handle like a light weight front wheel drive car in the snow, so go slow and take your time. if you start to loose traction just let off the gas (no brake) and let the tires catch up and gain traction again.
