Had my new Bilstein shocks and Roadmaster Active Suspension installed this morning. After driving it home this morning, and then driving it for about 90 minutes this evening, I am puzzled and disappointed. I can not honestly detect any noticeable difference in the ride, handling or performance at all. None whatsoever. What am I doing wrong?
And yes, the Roadmaster system was installed correctly and adjusted properly.
i did springs and shocks at the same time - so it might be the combo - but on level road - i didn't notice much difference. on pot holes it was stiffer but more controlled. where i really noticed the difference was a quick lane change at 30+ mph - shocks would absorb the roll and not overload and push back like before - also evident when going through off-camber corners.
the bilsteins do take awhile to loosen up. i've had mine 4 months now and starting to feel better.
Just curious, was your Ex. not handling very well or were you just hoping to improve already good characteristics?
I just assumed it was time for new shocks, 52,000 miles. And I assumed the Roadmaster system did something?? Just no noticeable change at all. I don't guess neither installation hurt anything, just didn't help anything as well.
Maybe once I get on a high speed biway doing 55 to 60 mph I might notice something with the Roadmaster system?
I do think the Roadmaster system raised the rear about 3/4" to 1". This is a good thing when carrying a full load of 44 gallons of fuel.
I think you notice the difference more going through the cones at the slolem course at 75 mph. Unless you drive it like you stole it you probably won't notice it. You might try swerving to miss those little squirrels, then you will see the difference.

A local resident just took 3 newborn baby squirrels and put them in his trash can. The trash men found them and the SPCA stepped in. One died, they are nursing the other two back to health. I would NOT swerve for the dumb human that did this to the babies. People are just plain mental cases now. They have no respect for anything.
i'm sorry (thread hijacking time), i'm not going to swerve for those little suckers at all, they know the risks of darting out in the road, they've had plenty of schooling on it from past realitives, haha....... but i'm not going to trap and trash them either........ if they can evade my .22 they will live to see another day before they are grilled up....... call the PETA people on me i'll make sure and have some FRESH BBQ waiting for them at the door!!

I just have to wonder if you or I had done that whether we would be facing jail time or a stiff fine? I am sure that when the story dies down nothing will be done to her.
