F-350 Dually ????

I just aquired a 70 F-350 dually flatbed. My rear wheels were 16.5", I put a set of 16" off a mid 80's ford dually. They didn't have a taper for the acorn lug nuts the rim was completley flat where the lug nuts go. My question is ore the mid 70's trucks with disc brakes, will those rims work with my aplication. I want to up grade the front to disc from a 73 and newer.

the only part of that i could understand was you saying that the new rims were flat without the indention for the akorn type lugnuts. the ones that were flat,, i think were for the nut type lugnut which set flat aginst the rim.. i THINK thats one part of what you were asking......

Ok let me restate my question. Will wheels from a 73-79 dually work. Do they take the acorn style lug nuts? My wheels I got are from a mid 80's Ford Dually. I also want to add disc brakes. Are the 73-79 dually's the same as the older ones as far as doing a disc brake conversion?

Yes 73-79 wheels use cone lug nuts as well. The newer 1 ton wheels are made to fit snugly on the hub to keep them centered thus they dont use cone nuts.

As far as the disc brakes are you talking about the front or rear?

Dual piston caliper front disc brakes were an option on 1968/72 F250 2WD's and F350's.

Find yourself one of those, everything bolts right on.

You will need the disc brake proportioning valve as the one for discs is different than what your truck has now.

These disc brake trucks also have a metering valve, not used after 1972.
