My Expy is needing its 90K mile serivce which includes a fuel system flush. I know it needs that because I've seen the carbon buildup in the throttle body.
Has anybody had any luck with fuel additives? You know, the ones you put in with a full tank of gas and it removes the carbon.
Do they work? Wouldn't the buildup break off and plug the injectors?
For what it's worth, there are testimonials on Redline's website (www.redlineoil.com) that rave about Redline's total fuel system cleaner. Might be worth a shot. I don't really buy into the dealership's fuel system cleaning service - I'd rather buy a few fuel cleaner additives and some carb/throttle body spray.
