1937 truck 60 hp original 6 volt

Hi, and thank you for any guidance you might provide....

I have been charged with getting a 37 ford truck running. This was my grandfathers original truck that was given to my uncle in 72 and my brother acquired it from him in the 90's. He had someone get it running when he acquired it but he did not provided it the necessary attention needed. He asked me to spend a little time w/ it and I am in way over my head on this.

Its the original 6 volt 60 hp flat head will run but not well, since its not receiving fuel.

My first question is... what appears to be a mechanical pump on the top of the motor is still in place but has what "appears" to be a standard 12 volt low pressure electric pump on the frame rail. This pump receives power but is not working, is putting an electric pump in a "standard fix" for this truck vs. not fixing the mechanical one? Is a 12 volt off the shelf pump an ok fix since its suck a low draw item?

The drivers side exhaust manifold is cracked any ideas on obtaining one of these?

Thank you in advance for any advise or guidance, I have had a few early bronco's but this beast is way out of my league.

Steve

I think a 12 volt off the shelf pump is just fine. It will work not as beautiful as what you may want but it will just be fine. Regarding the exhaust, you can buy new once to replace the old one. I remember my grand father having an old mazda truck (an 80's truck). We have tried testing it just a year ago and it is still working but some of the (Advertisement Removed) were already damaged. What I remember was the exhausts were also cracked. Me and my brother went to a local car parts store and we found out that replacing the old exhaust with a new one will not be an issue.
