3-speed conversion troubles
hello, i have a '82 F-150 w/ a 300i. now, i needed a new tranny(my 4-sp was trashed) so i was given a rebuilt 3-speed out of a '83 F-150 w/ a 300i. it's a 3-sp conversion w/ the shifter on the floor. here's my problem: the reverse is slipping out and the linkage seems to not line up properly. all of the work was done by a trans. shop so it's all under warrenty. anyway, he's putting the 3rd shifter(hurst) in. the first one just broke at the pivit point. he thinks that the shifter is the cause of the problem. can i please have a resolution?! i cant even back-up w/out the reverse slipping out. so some solutions would be at help here. thank you
