how much?

how much HP is the most you can have without beefing up the tranny and rear end? i want to put a pretty strong 460 in front of a stock C6. its got the conventional 3.00 gearing, if that tells you about the strength of the rear end.
you can probably tell i'm new to this stuff

Thanks,

its not so much the horse power you have to worry about its the torque the 460 is going to make thats what breaks things also what rear end does it have dana 60 a corporate or a 9 inch or smaller those three i listed are pretty strong but when you add alot of torque anything can happen about the c 6 im not to sure about that hope this helps bad 78 f 250

There's usually an ID tag attached to one of the housing bolts on the differential. Look for it and give us the numbers. I don't know what year or type of Ford you've got, but as soon as you let us know, we can look up what axles were options and get it figured out. With the Semi-Floating Axles you can do almost anything without problems, with the Full-Floating Axles, feel free to go out and conquer the world. As to the C6, in stock form it can handle at least 520 lbs. ft. 'o torque and 400 HP, and probably more, but I'm not sure the exact numbers. You can get built C6's that'll handle anything you throw at it.
