i think the mid 70,s ford truck power brake booster will work on the 57-60 trucks i just need to be corrected if im wrong but i thought this would be a cheap way to go if i could
Are you keeping the front drums or going to discs? I don't have your answer but that might help someone who does know. I plan to do the same to my '60 but I plan to keep the drums.
well my master cylinder is bad so i thought i might go ahead and up grade now while i have to replace it anyways Uh far is brakes i plan to keep the drums for now but will either upgrade to discs later or plans might be to do a aerostar front end
Hey Pip, I did a little research, possibly on the HAMB, and someone suggested going on Advance Auto Parts and Auto Zone's websites to find other vehicles with front drums and wheel cylinders that are sized the same as ours. According to those sites, my '60 (and most likely your '58) have 1 & 1/16" front wheel cylinders and 7/8" rear cylinders.
The '67 F100 has the same size cylinders as ours. I just don't know if there is a way to adjust the pedal push rod for length. Does anyone know if they all screw in? Can you just cut the eye off (if it has one) and run a die down it to cut in threads and then just screw an extension onto it?
It looks like a '67 Chevy C10 might be a candidate with 1 & 1/8" fronts and 1" rears. I'm not sure how much of a difference those sizes will make.
