New univ. alum. rad is works well
9 months ago or so I was having problems with the aluminum radiator setup. It is now installed with the new engine. Took the truck on a brief ride sans fenders and grille, and after cam breakin. Radiator and fan setup is working well. Temp at fast idle didnt go above 185, and while on road at outside temp of 67 didnt go above 160.
One of you suggested months back to set the radiator forward to the 6 cyl. position to help with routing the lower radiator hose. That is where it is. Great suggestion. The radiator core is 17X19, two row 1 in. tubes. The lower hose consists of a section of 1 3/4 in hose going to a 1 3/4 inline drain, to a bushed 2 in. hose section. So there are 4 hose clamps, a rubber bushing and drain petcock. Finally have the leaks stopped.
Fan setup is a front mounted 14 in. elect., and a mech. 15 unshrouded fan. So far it looks like the elect. fan wont be needed very often.
