My first trip on the Rickson wheels andf 19.5 inch tires

Just returned from my first trip since installing rickson 19.5 inch wheels and Commerical tires. They were everything I wanted them to be. The stability of the ride towing that big 5er was superb. I towed a 12,000 lb Cardinal for 6 years with E rated tires, and the ride and stability of the new tires pulling a 16,500 lb 5er is equal to or better than what I experienced for those 6 years. I ran 80 psi in the rear tires and 65 in the front. The ride and handeling with the trailer off is firm but not harsh, very acceptable. Because the tires are 225s there was no error in the speedometer reading as compared to my GPS. In short, I'm happy with them. A good bit poorer, but happy.

what rubber are you running? I'm on Sumitomos and pushing 35k now on this set and see no signs of wear. Looking to get close to 150 k out of these this time. I run mine at 80 front and rear, and the ride is awesome overall. Really quiet too.

Tires are Continetals 225/70R/19.5. Being a Georgia fan, I think they look awesome in Red and Black.

Ditto on the Ricksons, I luv 'em and they were a great solution with my truck camper. Mine are 285/70R19.5 Michelin XDE 2+.

Side by side comparison with a 315/75R16 Por Comp:

That looks really good and atleast you don't have to worry about load capacity on the wheels .

What's all this BS about orange and white and black and red....real men wear purple and gold on their trucks.

Glad those wheels and tires worked out well for you, I remember when you first posted about getting them and I was anxious to hear your feedback on how they towed, and I am right there with you on the UGA colors and reasoning. ( I lived in Atlanta for 10+ years(1993-2003) and even as a kid I always like them because of Herschel Walker. As for that orange and white...pffft.

Now I also agree with the real men purple statement too, partly by default- The wife is from 'Nawlins, and of course I am a HUGE Ravens fan so purple it is.

I do like the look of them alot. When I need new tires I may just go that route. I'll need 6 of them though.

Thanks for posting the pics!
