Tried a search and wasn't finding much...
This is not my truck, but a co-workers. She says its hard to get it in and out of gear and I can't remember the fix for the life of me... doesn't it have something to do with tightening a couple of big Torx screws on the bottom of the column?
Mine is white ! Its where the cable comes down and meets up with the trans..
and yes.. it does have little notches in it so you can adjust it ! You may be able to change its position at that end so she can change gears properly ! The cable may have stretched enough to make it come out of adjustment ! Be the good guy Chase and go fix the girls truck ! I just did the same thing on friday ! Changed her brake pads.. oil.. rotated her tires.. and then she took me out for dinner !!!!!!
Problem appears to be in the column- how hard is it to get to the torx screws that tend to come loose? She ran the truck down to the mechanic to have them give their assessment of what is needed, but I'm determined not to let her spend any $ at the shop if I can help it.
might also check (I think) fuse 15 for the brake shift lock thingy. Cant think of the right word but it locks the shifter in park unless the brake is applied and if it is blown it won't work. just a suggestion. 2nd row of fuses 4th one down.
