Is there a VIN stamped on the frame on the 53-56 trucks? If so where would I find it?

 

Front pass side top frame rail......some are elsewhere,but mine are there......and I have had 10 53-56 effies this year. Now I have 7...or maybe 8.....anyhow look there and sometimes it takes a grinder of wire brush to find them.....Bill

 

Bill is correct-look forward of the cab mount along the top rail up to the largecrossmember that the radiator sits on. My 56 is along this rail. My 54 is on the crossmember.

My 56 VIN is located on passenger rail just forward of the cab. Had to remove the inner fender to locate.

 

on my 54 it is right at the junction of the cross member and the frame rail, passenger side.. here are pics
