1991 Bronco II suspension on a 1945 Ford 1/2 ton

Hey guys, I am working on a 1945 Ford 1/2 ton pickup truck and would like to make it 4 wheel drive with modern suspension and handling capabilities. I know of a 1991 Bronco II available for parts for a really good price, it has a good drive train and suspension with low miles. I was wondering if I could bolt and weld and custom fit the suspension on the Bronco to the frame of the old 45 pickup. I know that the Bronco's frame is too short to simply bolt the body of the 45 onto, but if I can just somehow take the suspension and drivetrain out of the Bronco and put it onto the 45's frame, that would be great. I would have to make some custom length driveshafts and figure out a way to hook up the clutch and brake pedals and some othe linkage fabricating, but I am wondering if anybody has ever successfully attemted a project this before? Would it be possible to just take the suspension off of the Bronco and somehow mount it on the frame of the old 45 pickup?
Thanks.

Hi ,I am thinking of this same modification to my 40 1/2 ton. Have you started this project? Have you mesured the wheel width? All things are possable with a sawzall and a welder, let me know about your progress.
