I don't know who owned your Excursion prior to you, but their driver's license needs to be revoked.
Is there any single body panel they didn't damage?
The beastie was my sister-in-laws daily driver for about 7 years, and she would regularly pile 5 kids in it and head into the mountains for "adventures".
Um, no.. there is some type of damage on every surface of the vehicle. I plan on fixing the worst of it and having the whole thing painted with spray-on bedliner.
Heck, I even have to replace the rear wiper motor cause the lil ones would use it for a handle to climb up and open the hatch. They stripped the teeth out of the arm and from the actuator. Tomorrow I plan to try a temp fix with some JB Weld.
On the bright side, the engine and tranny are in great shape considering what that truck was put through. I plan to change the tranny and transfer case fluid as soon as I can though. Im pretty sure she never had them serviced. I saved the truck from the side of their long, winding driveway by sticking on a new pitman arm and steering box.
If it makes you feel any better Ben, there was an Excursion on eBaY about a year ago that had
damage to every body panel as well. And yet the seller was still expecting to and hoping to get a pretty high
retail value purchaser for it. I would hope the driver's license of the previous owner had been revoked by
whatever state he/she was in.
So you going to turn it back to stock??? or......?
Heck no man, I was thinking of an 8" lift, but now Im aiming for maybe 6" of lift and 35" tires. Delete the running boards and replace them with nerf bars, new front and rear bumpers with winch mounts, replacement grille (still looking for something not shiny... i REALLY REALLY want the grille from the Raptor), aftermarket head and tail lights.
Auxilary lighting front and rear, a correctly mounted CB antenne, Interceptor ODBII Gauge. Also gonna try to mount my power inverter in the cab this weekend.
Oh yeah, Im thinking of tearing out all of the carpet and having bedliner sprayed in there too.
Koo... so who is that laying on their face in your new pic. Is that U???? He looks hurt... not very Immortal. Bad night of drinking always does that to me...LOL!!!
HA! Thats me, after missing a steel target with my .22 rifle. If you look really closely you can see one of my nephews walking away..... the lil booger was laughing!
