convincing the wife i need stacks

I have no idea how to convince my wife that i NEED stacks on my truck. I tried telling her that I need them since we are moving 2000 miles back to kansas and the exhast that I have right now will melt the front of her car. Don't think she bought it though. Any suggestions?

For the safety of the kid? Don't want any little ones grabbing a hot tail pipe.

Ran over something and damaged your exhaust pipe and stacks are cheaper than a replacement stock system? Less piping anway.

You're a man of the sea, and the stack remind you of the steamships and your heritage?

Of course she won't buy any of those. The only thing that would work would be something like, because I bought you that new necklace, tennis bracelet and diamond ear rings. But of course if you did that, you wouldn't have any money for stacks.

So, I said to the wife, "I think I will put a single 5 inch stack on the passenger side of the truck". And she says "No, don't do that, you should put the dual stacks on it. That would look much better".

Too bad I didn't have any cash to spare at the time......

Do you tow a boat? If so tell her "Honey I read that when I launch the boat there is a chance I could kill my truck by submerging the exhaust pipe so stacks would be the best way to go"

OR

Get a cop buddy to write you a fix it ticket because your truck was blowing black smoke on pedestrians and cars so he recommended 5-7in dual stacks for your truck.

Tell her it reduces the smell of exhaust by placing it into the air instead of the side of the truck....

Is there really a good reason to have stacks? I guess to each his own, but it's my experience if I think I *need* something I need to attend to something my wife thinks she *needs* also. Then I usually get the green light. I think that's going to get you farther than trying to convince her they are needed.

I would have to go for begging if i were you. Women tend to be to smart when it comes to lame excuses. I would just suck it up throw myslef on the ground at her feet and say please please please "" "" "" "" "" "" until she gave in.
