Door handle/lock parts

I have a 1947 1.5 ton, truck that is in need of some door parts. The drivers side door handle use to have a detent to keep the handle unlocked, but something broke a couple of weeks ago and now the handle will ease down to the locked position. Are there parts available to fix this?

Try these guys; MAC’s: Dealer of Restoration Parts for Classic, Antique, Vintage Ford Autos, Cars & Trucks: Street Rod Parts, Vintage/Classic Ford Manuals & much more! They seem to have nearly everything '47 and older.

Sounds like the spring that keeps the interior door handle in a locked position has broken. It's a little piece of steel that is pressed in. If you remove the guts of the door and remove the latch and linkage you will see it, it is on the part where the interior handle is. You can get the part, I have seen them listed in the catalogs. It's a simple fix, a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the old one, and you just press the new one in.
