transfer case swap
I know this has been asked before. but I can't find it. I have a 1999 F250 superduty P/S 7.3 manual locking hubs. with electric control transfercase can I and how much change to switch to manual transfer case oh yes it is an autotranny.crewcab

I would assume your current transfer case is a BW1356 that Ford liked to use on teh newer trucks. If it is, and has the standard married case round bolt pattern you may be able to bolt up a NP208 or a married style NP205. If you do the 205 (recommended if you beat on it in 4WD) I would recommend fabbing a crossmember for it. They are heavy and shouldn't be hung unsupported off the back of an aluminum case trans. I do not recall the spline cound of the input on the 208/205 married cases, maybe someone else can chime in with that.
Bottom line is you just gotta look under your truck and see what you have to work with. It will most likely be a very simple swap. Also if you have a 1356 you may be able to find a manual shifter for it to replace the shift motor.
