Need some help with a 2005 F-250
I have a question I would like to pose to the group. I currently own a 2006 Expedition. However, my wife is looking to replace her car so I am willing to give it up for her to drive.
I have a F250 at work that I can have if I want it. It is an FX4 2005 with 123,600 miles on it. It has a brand new transmission and not a scratch on it. All in all, it looks great. The only problem I have is the rigid ride in it. I have searched through the forums and have come up with this post: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/3...s-a-waste.html
I am wondering if changing the shocks is going to give it a good ride? Are there any other options? Would I need to look at replacing the springs as well? Would air suspension do it for me? I am budgeting about $2000 for ride improvement.
I am looking for a ride that will allow me to sip on a cup of coffee without a lid on it in the mornings driving down Alabama Interstates (poor condition concrete and old asphalt...Alabama should say enough).
Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Shocks control the compression and rebound of the suspension (springs). Slow compression/rebound should make it "float", stiff suspensions usually don't allow the springs to collapse much and this force is transferred up. They also have a tendancy to have rapid expansion which pushes the tires back against the ground at a high speed which transfers up as jarring. Because of the weight of our vehicles and the weight of the tires/ect, it's not going to ride like a Cadillac without loosing a lot of performance.
