De La Hoya, Pacquiao agree to Dec. 6 fight in Vegas

ESPN - Sources: De La Hoya, Pacquiao agree to Dec. 6 fight in Vegas - Boxing

Oscar De La Hoya, boxing's biggest star, will announce Thursday that he will meet pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao on Dec. 6, two sources close to the fight told ESPN.com.
Top Rank's Bob Arum, whose company promotes Pacquiao, would not confirm a deal was in place for what would be the year's biggest fight, but he did tell ESPN.com that De La Hoya would host a media teleconference at 2 p.m. ET on Thursday to announce his opponent.

this will be one for the ages

That would be great. Pacquiao could finally send De La Hoya into permanent retirement.

Sorry man, but I get tired of guys in decline making fights like this. There's probably a group of guys with more skills than De La Hoya and are trying to come up that could be a better fight, but don't have the name.

But boxing is boxing, and we'll continue to see this stuff.

Of course Arum has Pacquiao, and that adds a little more "drama" to the matchup.

What's next!

A Rocky XXVII

Time to stay retired.

How about Holyfield Tyson rematch.

I think Holyfield still has an intact ear.

Line opened in favor of De La Hoya 8 to 5.

Get your money down on Pacquiao now, because they'll come down.

Maybe to give back to the community where he came from, if he hasn't already.
Some say he hasn't. I don't know.

I remember seeing a special on him, quite away ago, on how he seemed
to pretty much distanced himself from the community where he came from.

Maybe it's different now.
