98 Ranger brake lights wont shut off
I have a 1998 Ford Ranger XLT and last night my brake lights would not shut off even after I turned off the ignition. I dont think there is a brake problem because they are working fine and the interior brake warning lite had not come on. Now this morning the brake lights went off but when I step on the brake pedal sometimes the lights will come on and sometimes they wont. Any suggestions??

Brake lights do not go off with the ignition switch. So that is not a sympton of a problem. I suspect that you have a bad brake switch. It is usually located under the dash near the brake pedal.
