What is the largest alt. I can get
A friend of mind has a 1990 f-250 lariat I-300 and has a problem,
whenever he turns on his cooling fan for his a/c(had to add it on due to body lift) his battery doesn't charge, his amp meter
reads 11 vdc, we think his alt. is too small to handle the dual
cooling fans, and he wants to upgrade it to a larger one, my question is what is the largest alt. amperage I can get for this
I-300, and who sells it and how much is it, its a serpentine belt
not a v-belt if that makes a difference. would appreciate any info to this. thanks....

First, before you spend any money check to make sure that the alternator is your problem.
If you want a large alternator, I bought one for my 351W from Glen Beavers of Beavco Alternators in Il. 1-888-384-7430. He rebuilds them with high output windings, performance bearings and regulators, etc. Mine is the same physical size as the original, except it's 105Amp! I'm ver pleased with it and I payed less than $90.00 for it.
Also, there are the 200Amp units you can find that come with the Premier Power Welder kits.
