I knew I shouldn't have let my wife drive it.!!!!! Ok 2002 f250 cc auto 7.3, this has happened only a few times & I can't figure a pattern. When I cut it off and remove the key and push the lock button on the arm rest the locks go down then right back up. If it hit the button again it does the same thing, the only fix I've found is to use the lock button on the fob. It did it this weekend but worked fine on Monday, no rain in about a week, not even a heavy dew. Batteries are new (relpaced both this spring) everything works fine except this happening every month or 2. Thanks in advance rugerman
If it is only one switch, then you have to think that switch is bad or the harness is corroded. If you're game, and the others work, you could switch it out and see if the problem follows the switch or stays with the door. Or you could gamble that it is bad and have a new one ready to go in when you pull the panel. Panel just pops off and is easy to get to the switches and wires.
Someone else had a problem similar to this. The problem was in the wiring inside the boot between the door and the cab. Anyway here is how to take the door panels off. click here
Mine Seems To Catch Just Enough To Not Set The Light. When I Go To Lock It Says "no Sir", Then I Gotta Yell At Someone! Hope Yours Is Easy And Not An Eletrical Gremlin.
Come to think about it I did use the back door a lot this weekend and several times I was hauling gear in and out so that might be the problem. Maybe she aint haunted after all. thanks guys
the owners manual of my 2002 excursion says it has an " auto unlock". If you lock the doors with the key in the ignition it unlocks the drivers door within x seconds.. I tried it, it worked. Is it possible you have a column lock cylinder contact glitch?? it thinks the key is in the ignition?
mine does it too if i take my key out too fast and hit the lock button. i bet its your igntion switch still thinkin your key is in the ignition switch try takeing the key out slowly or play with your ignition switch while taking your key out....
