Tuesday evening approximately 6:00 PM our newly rebuilt and modified 1941 221 converted to '49-'53 with MSD Electronmic ignition 239 Flattie fired to life and ran on her own for the first time in about 4 years !!
I've sorta documented SOME of the build progress on this truck in my gallery here, but I also have more detail on my club website if anyone is interested. Yes, the engine is PINK, I built this truck with a Cancer Awarness theme. My wife is a Cancer survivor, and I built the truck for her.
I seen your title scrolling down the main page, and had t stop in. Your truck is great and don't worry about the pink it fits your truck.Being a Cancer Survivor too I want to Thank you for doing something truly special for your wife and Breast Cancer Awareness.
This truck has really taken on special meaning beyond what these fine old vehicles naturally have. The engine buillder on this project was one of those SUPER guys you are priviledged to meet only occassionally, who had been building Flathead engines for 60 years. He heard of how I was theming this truck and wanted to do the engine rebuild.....you see he was fighting pancreatic Cancer at the time.
This was his LAST rebuild, Joe lost his battle in January this year at age 77. We had to finish the motor, but Joe's unique skills live on in this project. Hope everyone enjoys this project.
Steve, looking good. It's always great to see a flathead up and running again. Even better that there is such a great meaning to it. Once again, great to hear it's moving along well.
