Question for the Pros............

I swapped a out a blown engine from my 1998 E-350 and replaced it with a 97 F-250. I got it to run but it is choppy and theres alot of white smoke and seems to have very little power. I just found out the hard way that the injectors are different. The 98 has the split fire injectors and the 97 has the single fire. What would I need to change on the electrical to make it compatable? Please for the love of god don't tell me I have no other option other then replacing the injectors! Theres no room in a that van without taking everything out again. Also is there anything else that could make it run like that other then the mismatch form split fire electronics on single fire injectors?
Any good advise is more then appreciated!

I believe someone mentioned that a custom tuned chip such as a Tony Wildman or DP-Tuner would make everything work.

You could get a new PCM I imagine but I would call TW and tell him what you have and he will fix you up with a chip to solve all your problems. Let him know you have an '98 E and put a '97 F with single shots in there. He can make it run like a champ. Get some performance tunes while you are there. Not too much to add on.

... or get new injectors.
