"Raw materials are getting hard to acquire and it won't get better soon. As of July 1st this year, prices for ALL tires will be going way up. Just got this 411 from a guy that works at Cooper which is hurting bad and shutting down production days like crazy.
Just a heads up if you were planning on waiting a few weeks to buy a set of rubber."

Michelin North America has announced that, as a result of continuing increases in raw material, energy and transportation costs, it will increase the prices of passenger and light truck replacement tire prices by 12% on Michelin, BFGoodrich, Uniroyal, private and associate brand tires sold in the US, effective September 1, 2008.
Glad I got my Goodyear SA this week... I dont know what price others have paid for there in the past but I got mine for $165 a tire plus $10 for mounting and balancing. I got the 285/75/16.
It is not July 1st....I talked to a tire guy at a Porsche Tire Tech Event months ago and he said his prices for tires go up every week because the tire compnaies charge him more with every order.
If you need tires, definitely by them sooner rather than later. The good thing for our Ex's is that the rubber compunds in truck tires are the most stable so they will last for years.
