'89 F350 w/351w problem

today i was hauling some junk and on the highway and it began losing power...and as i got off it kept losing power and making a only way i can describe it as a loud humming noise...then going up one hill it wouldnt do more than 15-20...by the time i was able to pull into a parking lot it finally stalled out although i was able to get it running for a few secs to pull it into a spot...the engine seemed incredibly hot and steam came out of the dipstick and oil fill holes...i towed it home and now i can only get it barely running and when it does...it idles like crap and stalls out when trying to open throttle at all...i pulled the codes and got 34 and 87...im thinking fuel pump or filter but idk.
any ideas?

34 ... EGR position sensor is not showing the valve to be closed when it should be, clean the valve and try again.

87... fuel pump power failure. This is probably your big problem, check pressure at the fuel rail, if it's less than 43psi with vacuum removed one of your pumps is failing, this truck probably has both a low pressure pump in the tank and a high pressure pump on the frame.

You should be able to hear both pumps cycle for a second when the key is turned to the on position(engine off). If they don't you'll have to test the voltage at the pump connectors, and if you have 12v the pump is bad. Both pumps will be on the same circuit.
