Has anyone successfully installed two single-din units on top
of each other (to make a double-din unit) into the opening of
the stock unit??
I was able to do this in my 2001 Mustang, but the F150 attaches
on the sides instead of at the bottom (with a bracket) like the
Mustang.
No one makes a kit that I've seen to do this. If you know of
a place, please let me know. Also, I already have the two single
din units attached to each other - just need to stick it in my
truck.
Any help, opinions, or advice is appreciated! Thanks!
The stacked option comes from my '97 Mustang where there were two single DIN openings. When I moved to '01 Mustang, I stacked them
with no problems. Besides, double-DIN units are expensive, and
there aren't a lot of choices.
I have installed the "stack" into my truck (a little easier said
than done), and I'm putting a How To together now. I only lack a
custom faceplate (easy to make) to finish it off.
