how much for a 351?
Just what vehicle are you putting this in, and do you want bone stock? Two 385 horse SVO engines just went thru ebay for around 3700$, but list was around 5K. These were sportsman blocks with aluminum heads. Rebuilds in stock run something like 750$ up. For a while you could get a new complete truck engine with fuel injection, manifolds, water pump, bell housing with clutch #####. for around 2300$, but don't know if any are still available. I'm not sure about a brand new motor but I was told I could get a rebuilt 351W installed in my 85 for just under $2000 including labor. Mine's still running so I never bothered, but doesn't sound too bad.

Sounds like a fair price, labor is not cheap. You could do it yourself and save roughly a 1000, but if you are not machanically minded or don't have the tools, time, or place, that's your best bet.
