I have been very dissatisfied with my seat in the 46 for a long time. Looked at many other's seats, and even bought a third row seat out of a Chrysler mini van to work with. It weighed so much it was a strain to lift, therefore ended up making a bed out of it for one of our big dogs.
Several months ago I took a seat out of my neighbor's 1990 Mitsubishi pickup before it went to the crusher. Mounting looked fairly straightforward, but it was 4 inches too wide. Yesterday I sectioned out four inches from the bottom seat frame and rewelded it together. Fit was good. Took it and the back to a friend who is better at welding and he sectioned the back four inches. Looks really good for fit, but back lays back too much and will have to raise up the horizontal locking pin on the bottom so that it locks in a more upright postion. Then on the the upholsterers.
It is nice to get bugaboos taken care of, even after years!
