Thumbs up My observations on the 10K mod.

I've been looking for any way to squeak a little more out of each tank of fuel and have been aware of a different, harder throttle response since doing the 10K mod (actually 14.6k) last November. This last week I returned the mod back to stock, filled the tank and realized a full 1 mpg increase! The throttle response is much "softer", the engine runs noticeably quieter and when letting off the throttle there is no more "sudden deceleration" like a down shift.

I religously set the cruise at 2000 rpm, keep a light foot on the throttle and have been running the same brand of fuel and additive. In these days of ridiculous fuel prices those of you with the mod may consider going back to stock to see if you can get an increase. I may put the mod back in later this season when vacations and trailer towing begin, the increase in power may be helpful but for now I'm staying stock.

Hope this helps.

I was on my way home from work and set my dp on stock and watched my egt climb to 750,had it there for over a mile then switched back to 80 econ and my gauge dropped to 500 so i know that it burns more fuel in the stock from.Chris

I usually see a slight increase in fuel mileage in the spring and slight decrease in the fall due to the change in summer and winter blend fuel. I have my 10k on a rotary switch and can't seem to leave it alone long enough to get a mpg check on one setting.
